A mother's desire to expand her little one’s sensory experiences that could help build confidence while also sparking calm and emotional regulation. So she had the idea to build out a “calm corner” for her son. As a one-and-a-half year old, the ideas needed to be simple, safe, but able to be of interest as he grew.

So she reflected on her own needs, which were the need for a calm space that fostered positive mental health regulation, joy, wonder, focus, and that sparked the senses. She researched many sensory products and landed on sensory bottles. There were only “make-your-own” bottles to purchase in the large stores and online there were handmade ones that just weren’t quite what she was looking for.

She decided to craft them herself for her son. Through over two years of creating and product testing (lots of throws by her almost three-year-old), and trial and error (we use distilled water in every item to ensure longevity), she developed high-quality sensory bottles that last. Over time, other local families, individuals, and shops became interested in these products, and thus, Joyful Sensory Co. was born!
